- The target audience of many psychological thrillers are 18+ This is because they include a lot of violence and some psychological issues which can be disturbing for many younger viewers There are usually warnings on the back of the DVD cover which states why it is rated as it is e.g. contains extreme violence or sexual scenes.
Initially, i believed that the age of the wider audience for thriller films in general was 15 - 18 and above, however from research, i have concluded that the wider audience for thriller films are 18 year olds and above.
- The Target Audience which we were aiming to attract with our film was 15 plus males or females who enjoy psychological thrillers.
