Conventions Of Film Openings

Establishing the Film Genre

At the beginning of the film the film genre is made clear to the audience

Establishing Shot

An Establishing shot can be used in the beginning of the film to sow the audience the location of the films this can also be used to hint to the audience what type of film genre it is from a very early stage

Non Diagetic Music

As I mentions before the film opening uses Non Diagetic music which also makes it more obvious to the audience what film genre it is.

Productions and Distributors

At the beginning of every film, generally the first two things the audience view are the producer ad distributor icons, which are then followed by the names of the producers and distributors companies.

Actor 1 and 2

These normally come after the production and Distributors companies. Actors one and two are normally the protagonist and antagonist because their the two main actors from polar sides of the films.

 The Film Title

The title of the film comes next and this is usually is shown around the minute mark. But the time can sometimes vary give or take a few seconds

Actors 3, 4 ,5

These are the other actors in the film. their normally not the main actors unless it's a film which consists of a vast amount of well known and symbolic actors

Costume

The person or people who organised the costumes worn in the films for the actors

Music supervisors

Supervises the producers of the music

Music By

The person who either chose the music for the film or produced it

Edited By

The team or people who edited the film together

Productions Designer

Director of Photography

Executives Producers

Executive Producer is a producer who was not involved in any technical aspects of the film making or music process in the original definition, but who was still responsible for the overall production.

Written By

The person or people who wrote the film

Director

The person who directed the film. Even though its placed at the end of the conventions list, the director's position can change depending on the director and how well know he is. For example if he/she is an Iconic figure.
